The Beginning of a Genocidal Legacy

October 12th 1492 was the day Christopher Columbus set out and "discovered" a new land...at least that's what u were taught in history class.  For me and countless Americans of all races and colors, it's the day that a murderer and thief took credit for sumthin that already existed.  As part Native American I never condoned his actions and i knew the truth at an early age.  I remembering questioning my teacher in 2nd grade about the liar only to get in trouble for "disrupting the class".  Sure we get a day off of work and there's always a party to "celebrate", people need to realize what the celebration is about.  Columbus opened up the slave trade and was the cause of the genocide of the Native Americans
